FAQ – CRAFT BEER & CIDER FESTIVAL SUNSHINE COAST
Opening hours: 1pm until 9pm (last drinks at 830pm) on Saturday 1st December 2018
LOCATION
By car, the venue is about an hour away from Brisbane Airport, 15 minutes from Caloundra, 15 minutes from Mooloolaba, 17 minutes from Alexandra Headlands and 13 minutes from Maroochydore. There is also public transportation available.
GETTING TO THE VENUE
Carpool
If you are driving, how about filling the seats in your car and travelling with a friend or two? Carpooling is a great way to save some petrol money and reduces the number of cars on the road, therefore reducing pollution and traffic congestion at the venue. Plus you’ll only have to find one car park instead of two.
Car Parking
For Major events, car parking will cost $10 per car and will be payable be cash or Eftpos. Maps showing the various parking locations and entry points will be released prior to major events so that patrons are aware of where to go.
Parking on nature strips, areas of open space and parkland is not permitted and we have been advised the fines of up to $375 may be issued per vehicle parked illegally. Please also be considerate of residents by not parking across driveways.
Remember to watch out for cyclists when you are on the road!!
Taxi
Suncoast Cabs the Coasts’ only provider of 24/7/365 safety regulated public passenger transport announced that they are offering ‘Happy Hour’ each Friday and Saturday night.
Patrons can enjoy great ‘happy hour’ rates on both nights from 6pm to 9pm by simply booking a fixed price fare exclusively via the Suncoast Cabs App. Book your cab to get you safely and quickly out of the Festival at 9pm. Alternatively, you can book your bus seat here http://bit.ly/2ixLqiq
Private Bus
We will operate 3 buses to depart the Stadium at 9pm. You must book the Premium Value Experience ticket to get your bus included in the ticket price. Book your Premium Value ticket here http://bit.ly/2ixLqiq.
Drop-offs will be Caloundra Bus Station, Maroochydore Bus Station and River Esplanade Bus Stop Mooloolaba.
ON ARRIVAL
After the doors open, please have your ticket ready to scan (either a printed version or displayed on your phone).
Your Great Experience Ticket will be scanned and you’ll be given an Entry Wristband. Ticket will be scanned and you’ll be given your Entry Wristband, Festival Glass and Five (5) Tasting Tokens (50mls) and you need to book the bus to save any disappointment.
Please be prepared to show your valid ID.
Please note all bags are subject to inspection at any point during the event. Bottles, cans, glass, food, drink, alcohol, illicit drugs, illegal substances, fireworks, umbrella’s, chairs, explosives or anything that can be used as a weapon cannot be brought into the festival.
There will be limited seating, so please bring a picnic rug to sit on.
PURCHASES
Our event is 100% cashless event. With no cash to handle, this helps our bars and exhibitors process transactions quickly, which means more time for you to enjoy the festival.
Bring your debit card, credit card, Android or iPhone (with mobile wallet enabled) and get ready to ‘tap & go’ powered by Square. Every brewer, food truck, and bar (even the merch tent) will only take payment with a Visa, Mastercard or Amex Debit or Credit Card or your enabled smartphone with ‘tap & go’ functionality. No ATM machines charging $3.50 a transaction, no lining up for currency, no refunds, no $2 first time top-up fee, which means no hassles. It’s simple.
Tokens will be handed out with each Premium Experience ticket on arrival. All tokens can be used for rides or 50ml tasters.
Kids must use tokens for rides this year and all tokens can be purchased at the merch tent or at the slime tent in the kid’s area.
Exchange your cash for tokens at the box office, slime tent in the kid’s area or at the merch tent.
Just repeating – cash will not be accepted at this year’s festival. You must bring your debit or credit card that has ‘tap & go’ functionality.
TASTING & GLASS SIZES
With so many incredible beers/ciders on offer, sampling a wide variety is really the name of the game at our festival. Our Official Guide has been designed with helpful tools to help you select your beers and ciders.
Individual 150ml tasters can be purchased from $2.50. Or a 280mls plastic glass is from $5.
And if you find something you want a little more of, at any time you can have your Festival Glass filled with a 150ml serve of beer, wine or cider. Festival Glass fills start from $2.50. Cans (opened prior to supply) or 280mls are on sale from $5.
Red/White/Bubbles tasting cups are on sale from $2.50, at any time you can have your Festival Glass filled with 150ml for $5.
OTHER DRINKS
Free water will be available at Unity Water Van. Remember to keep hydrated to make sure you can go the distance.
And if you’re not into beer, cider, red or white wine and bubbles that’s fine. We won’t hold it against you. Soft drinks and other non-alcoholic drinks will be available to purchase at most food stalls.

TOKENS
Tokens can be used at any brewer’s stand for a 50ml size taste only or any ride in the kid’s area. You can only buy tokens for rides, to buy extra tokens for rides only will cost $2.50.
FOOD
There will be a variety of food available to purchase with your debit or credit card, on the day.
RIDES/KIDS
All kids enter for free but must use tokens for rides. All rides are worth 1 token. All tokens can be purchased at the merch tent located on the right as your first enter or at the Slime Tent in the kid’s area.
Jumping Castle, Face Painting, Slime Lessons, Dodgem Cars, height restrictions are 1.4m. If they do not reach this height a parent must ride with them. Food, drinks, slushies and ice-creams are available to purchase with debit or credit card. All kids MUST be supervised by a parent at all times.
MERCHANDISE
Merchandise is available to purchase. Poncho’s in case of rain, picnic rugs to sit on, t-shirts, caps, beer paddles, stubbie holders and awesome beach towels.
STAFF & VOLUNTEERS
All staff and volunteers will be wearing white t-shirts and will be easy to identify. Please respect them as many have given up their time to help out.
SMOKING
Smoking is not permitted anywhere within the Festival site, smokers are asked to smoke outside the venue.
Shade and Shelter
Most brewers have shade & shelter, and there is shade & shelter.

Is there any transport from Caloundra to the event
Yes Jill there are the normal translink buses that stop right at the stadium.

The festival will be on rail, hail or shine. There are ponchos’s for sale and plenty of cover.
