CRAFT BEER & CIDER FESTIVAL SUNSHINE COAST

Sunshine Coast Stadium, Eastern Fields, Western Fields, Lake Kawana and Kawana Aquatic Centre make up Kawana Sports Precinct, which is centrally located on the Sunshine Coast in Kawana over 45 hectares.
By car, Sunshine Coast Stadium is about an hour away from Brisbane Airport, 15 minutes from Caloundra, 15 minutes from Mooloolaba, 17 minutes from Alexandra Headlands and 13 minutes from Maroochydore. There is also public transportation available; most bus routes stop outside the main entrance to Kawana Sports Precinct off the Nicklin way.
GETTING TO THE SUNSHINE COAST STADIUM
Sunshine Coast Stadium is located at 31 Sportsmans Parade, Bokarina. Just over an hours drive North of Brisbane, QLD.
Getting to the Sunshine Coast Stadium, there are the regular translink buses that stop right at the stadium. https://jp.translink.com.au/ Bus 600 North from Caloundra, Bus 611 South from Maroochydore, Alex, Mooloolaba. Back on the same bus number in the opposite direction. Be sure to get off at Nicklin Way, Main Drive, Bokarina.

If you are driving to the Sunshine Coast Stadium, how about filling the seats in your car and travelling with a friend or two? Carpooling is a great way to save some petrol money and reduces the number of cars on the road, therefore reducing pollution and traffic congestion at the venue. Plus you’ll only have to find one car park instead of two.
For Major events, car parking will cost $10 per car and will be payable be cash or Eftpos. Maps showing the various parking locations and entry points will be released prior to major events so that patrons are aware of where to go.
Parking restrictions apply throughout Bokarina. Parking on nature strips, areas of open space and parkland is not permitted and we have been advised the fines of up to $375 may be issued per vehicle parked illegally. Please also be considerate of residents by not parking across driveways.
Remember to watch out for cyclists when you are on the road!!

Drop offs will be Caloundra Bus Station, Maroochydore Bus Station and River Esplanade Bus Stop Mooloolaba.
After the doors open, please have your ticket ready to scan (either a printed version or displayed on your phone).
Your ticket will be scanned and you’ll be given an Entry Wristband. This is your key to SAB, and will be loaded with any SAB Currency you’ve purchased with your ticket, or that you top up at the festival. There are rovers walking around for you to top up your SAB and there is a top up/refund station location at the entrance and in the middle of the oval.
Please be prepared to show your valid ID.
Please note all bags are subject to inspection at any point during the event. Bottles, cans, glass, food, drink, alcohol, illicit drugs, illegal substances, fireworks, umbrella’s, chairs, explosives or anything that can be used as a weapon cannot be brought into the festival.
There will be limited seating, so please bring a picnic rug to sit on.
FAST TRACK ENTRY FOR ALL PRELOADED TICKETS. For preloaded tickets, as you enter, you’ll be given your Sunshine Coast Festival Glass and then you’re good to go!
SUNSHINE AND BEER (SAB) CURRENCY
SAB is a 100% cashless event. With no cash to handle, this helps our bars and exhibitors process transactions quickly, which means more time for you to enjoy the festival. There is a First Time Top Up fee of $2.00.
As mentioned above, your Entry Wristband will be loaded with any SAB Currency you’ve pre-purchased. This year, you can pre-purchase SAB Currency in amounts of $30 and $60 with your ticket.
We strongly recommend purchasing Currency before the event so you can start the fun from the first minute. For reference, a paddle (included in the price) and three 150ml tasters (more on this below) costs $22, and a 150ml Festival Tasting Glass fill is from $3.
Topping Up Currency
If you don’t use all of your SAB Currency, you can refund any unused SAB currency on site only. You can obtain your refund at the top up kiosks on site before you leave at any time through out the event.
TASTING & GLASS SIZES
With so many incredible beers/ciders on offer, sampling a wide variety is really the name of the game at SAB. Our Official Guide has been designed with helpful tools to help you select your beers and ciders.
Individual 150ml tasters can be purchased. All SAB Tasters are sold from $3 each. Or a 280mls plastic glass is from $6
And if you find something you want a little more of, at any time you can have your Festival Glass filled with a 150ml serve of beer, wine or cider. Festival Glass fills start from $4. Cans (opened prior to supply) are on sale from $7.
Red/White/Bubbles tasting cups are on sale from $3, at any time you can have your Festival Glass filled with 150ml for $7.
Free water will be available at stations throughout the festival hall. Remember to keep hydrated to make sure you can go the distance.
And if you’re not into beer, cider, red or white wine and bubbles that’s fine. We won’t hold it against you. Soft drinks and other non-alcoholic drinks will be available to purchase at the Kids Drinks Tent located in the Kids Zone. Unity Water van will be there so you can keep hydrated.
There will be a variety of food available to purchase with SAB currency, on the day with your wristband.
All under 10’s ride for free all day long. Jumping Castle is $2, facepainting is $2 and dodgem cars are $5 each car. Height restrictions are 1.4m, if they do not reach this height a parent must ride with them. Food, drinks and ice-creams are available to purchase with SAB currency, with your wristband. For children under 10 parents must use their wristband to make purchases for their kids. All kids MUST be supervised by a parent at all times.
Merchandise is available to purchase with your wristband. Poncho’s in case of rain, picnic rugs to sit on, tshirts, caps and awesome beach towels.
STAFF & VOLUNTEERS
SAB staff and volunteers will be wearing SAB t-shirts and easy to identify. Please respect them as many have given up their time to help out.
Smoking is not permitted anywhere within the Festival site, smokers are asked to smoke outside the venue.
